Expansion into a fifth European market, and eighth global market, for the unique programme providing start-ups with a voice in the real world to scale and grow

Nurture, the programme established by JCDecaux in the UK in 2016, has launched in Switzerland, with APG|SGA joining the Nurture network.

Already rolled out by JCDecaux in seven countries on three continents, the Nurture programme is designed to help start-ups scale up by giving them a voice in the real world, building brand awareness and brand trust through Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising.

The Swiss start-up ecosystem is thriving. In 2020 the number of financing rounds for start-ups grew by 14%, with a total of CHF 2.1 billion invested. Sectors seeing high numbers of start-up launches include medical technology, clean-tech (focusing on environmental sustainability), and energy.

Start-ups make a critical contribution to the Swiss job market. In 2020, new businesses created more than 50,000 jobs, and an average 300 start-ups are launched every year.

The Nurture programme will ensure Swiss start-up businesses can use Out-of-Home media to maximise the opportunities provided by this marketplace to thrive and grow. The programme makes it straightforward to take advantage of OOH’s benefits, ensuring OOH media spend is optimised to work as hard as it can to reach and influence the greatest possible number of potential consumers, transforming them into customers.

We are very pleased to be a Nurture partner and to be able to offer this international funding programme for start-ups. The Swiss start-up scene is highly active and dynamic. We are convinced that with Nurture and JCDecaux's international network, we can provide optimal support in the form of targeted mentoring, data insights and tailor-made offers that will help start-ups become successful companies. Markus Ehrle CEO, APG|SGA
