Epilepsy Action launches Could I Count on You? campaign to boost public confidence in stepping in to support those with epilepsy.

A powerful new campaign from Epilepsy Action, Could I Count on You?, has launched nationwide with support from the JCDecaux Community Channel. The charity, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, is encouraging the public to better their understanding on the condition and help create a more supportive and safer environment for the 600,000 people in the UK living with epilepsy.

The campaign highlights research showing that over half of UK adults (54%) wouldn’t know how to help in such a situation, with many holding dangerous misconceptions about what to do. By reframing everyday scenarios through the perspective of someone living with epilepsy, the campaign reveals the invisible mental load they carry - from commuting to shopping or dropping a child at nursery - and the reliance on strangers when a seizure strikes.

Running across high-profile Out-of-Home locations in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and other key commuter routes and city centre locations, as well as on social and radio, the initiative will reach millions of people in the everyday environments where seizures could occur.

Created by Boldspace, the concept was first developed at the Creative Shootout 2025, where the agency won with its empathetic approach. Now brought to life, the campaign aims to turn empathy into action, breaking stigma and equipping the public with the knowledge needed to help.

Charities are having to work harder to remain relevant in 2025. For Epilepsy Action, driving awareness of a hidden disability brings even more challenges. Our brief to Boldspace was to shatter the stigma and to make epilepsy visible. We think this campaign really does this. We should all do more to make ourselves people with epilepsy can count on.
