Ambitious poster campaign launched for those who cannot read.

JCDecaux Community Channel is proud to support Read Easy UK raising awareness of the coaching that is available to adults who are unable to read nationwide.

1 in 14 adults cannot read and one of the biggest barriers that Read Easy UK face is reaching those adults who most need their support. An inability to read posters, social media posts and campaigns, along with the stigma associated with being an adult who struggles to read, creates a challenging boundary for the charity to cross.

This bold campaign encourages those who can read the poster to share it. All partners are optimistic that with wider awareness of the charity, more Readers will be referred to their programme or get in contact themselves for support.

This is not a niche issue. More than 7 million¹ adults in the UK are struggling with literacy in their daily lives and are often left feeling isolated, anxious and alone. Read Easy UK are trying to change that. They provide free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching to adults who want to learn to read via specially trained volunteer reading coaches in 87 areas across England. This is made possible by 1,500 committed volunteers.

Due to our exciting billboard campaign we are expecting a significant increase in the number of adults who contact us in the coming months seeking support to learn how to read in their local community. Carla Priddon, CEO of Read Easy UK
We are proud to be supporting this campaign, using the power of the public screen to raise awareness of Read Easy UK, and the important work they do to ensure all adults up and down the country have the literacy skills they need to fulfil their potential. Chris Dooley, Head of Social Impact at JCDecaux UK

The September campaign is running with multiple creatives across Out-of-Home digital billboards UK-wide. For more information click here.
