One Team: real-world examples

Our Values, Their Stories: listening as One Team to inspiring individuals whose stories bring our values to life

Within the 'Our Values, Their Stories' series we've heard from arguably the ultimate 'One Team', the Red Arrows; Chair of the Rugby League World Cup 2021 Chris Brindley MBE; Christo Hudson, ex pilot turned mental health trainer; and trailblazing female footballer Hope Powell, first team coach for Brighton & Hove Albion Women's Football Team.

This inspirational suite of webinars is complemented by our internal 'One Team Behind the Public Screen' series, where each team within the business hosts an interactive webinar to explain who they are, what they do, and the part they play to make our One Team a reality.

Our One Team Champions from across JCDecaux are at the heart of our One Team ethos.

The Champions transform the idea behind 'One Team' into reality. They create opportunities for us all to come together; have fun; support causes close to our hearts, and really make JCDecaux a truly friendly, inclusive place to work.

I have worked at a few organisations and truly believe JCDecaux is people focused. Work is so much more easier when you love what you do, and having this One Team aspect is a great way to channel this feeling and share and build friendships. After all, people make up the company. I am absolutely thrilled to be a One Team Champion and hope I contribute positively. I’m looking forward to being approachable to colleagues, being there and listening to them. It will be nice to connect with colleagues in other departments and work collaboratively on volunteering projects and relaxed meet-ups as One Team grows still more. One Team is bigger than just those of us who work at JCDecaux.

The Champions plan activities designed to involve family and friends as well.

At the end of last year we worked with an organisation called The Wonderful Post to design and send 200 festive cards to elderly people in care homes across the UK. It was a true One Team activity, with our colleagues and their families pitching in to spread some Christmas cheer where it was needed most.
