The Hygiene Bank launches national campaign to help those affected by hygiene poverty this Christmas, supported by JCDecaux Community Channel

The Hygiene Bank has launched a nationwide campaign, ‘Shower People With Kindness,’ in partnership with JCDecaux Community Channel. The Christmas campaign is encouraging people to spread kindness this festive season and raising awareness about hygiene poverty across the UK.

4.2 million adults in the UK are currently facing the harsh reality of not being able to afford hygiene basics like toothpaste, shampoo or washing up liquid. Families are having to make difficult choices, like buying hygiene products for themselves or for their children, paying the bills or paying for shampoo and toilet roll.

‘Shower People With Kindness’ calls on the public to help tackle this silent crisis by donating to The Hygiene Bank to help them support thousands of families and individuals affected by hygiene poverty this Christmas.

With The Hygiene Bank services in growing demand, and with more than 350 community partners on the waitlist, the need has never been greater. This Christmas, we want to remind everyone of the incredible power of kindness. By taking part in our ‘Shower People with Kindness’ campaign, you’re not just giving someone hygiene essentials—you’re giving them the confidence, joy, and the fresh start they deserve. Thanks to JCDecaux Community Channel support, our message will reach people nationwide, sparking the action needed to end hygiene poverty.
