The Rugby World Cup will be the most significant sporting event to take place in the UK since the 2012 Olympics and excitement is high as the games get started.
Brands have been capturing the heart of the nation far and wide and O2, Heineken, and House of Fraser are using JCDecaux’s Motion@Waterloo to kick-start the celebrations.
Waterloo station is playing a key part in the Rugby World Cup as sports fans gather there to make the journey to Twickenham Stadium, so there’s no better way to get them in the mood than with the 40m long full motion digital screen filled with commemorative content.
O2’s dynamic digital campaign on Motion@Waterloo displays supporters’ positive tweets that use the hashtag #WearTheRose.
The creative makes full use of the 40m board with an illustrated England team lined up across it, followed by the message “Make them giants.” The total number of messages being tweeted is also shown.
It was launched at Waterloo prior to its TV campaign and was planned and booked by Media Planning Ltd t/as Havas and Posterscope.
Heineken, one of the worldwide partners of the Rugby World Cup, is using Motion@Waterloo in its multi-platform campaign. The creative features clips from the TV spot featuring famous Rugby players Jonah Lomu and John Smit.

Howick (House of Fraser)
British department store House of Fraser has launched a dapper campaign with a twist for the men’s clothing brand Howick.
The creative features the London Irish Rugby team looking somewhat battered and bruised after a game, but dressed to impress in the brand’s formal collection.
The campaign was planned and booked by Goodstuff Communications and Talon.
