A set of 12 ‘Season’s Greetings’ cards designed by Edinburgh pupils will brighten up Princes Street this festive weekend by being displayed on all JCDecaux digital screens on bus shelters.

A set of 12 ‘Season’s Greetings’ cards designed by Edinburgh pupils will brighten up Princes Street this festive weekend by being displayed on all digital bus shelter screens. In a preview photocall, a group of the young winning artists gathered to unveil their designs at one of the bus shelters on Princes Street.

Pupils from schools across the city entered the competition to come up with festive designs. Winners attending the photocall include: Archie (Kaimes School), Eilidh Angus (Braidburn School), Finn Robertson (Corstorphine Primary School), Josh Robertson (Corstorphine Primary School) and Ruva Nyamutswa (St Andrew’s Fox Covert RC Primary School).

In addition, the cards created by Eilidh Angus (Braidburn School), Archie (Kaimes School) and Sizar Omar (Braidburn School) have been chosen as the official Christmas cards for the City of Edinburgh Council, the Convener for Education, Children and Families Councillor Joan Griffiths and Executive Director for Children, Education and Justice Services, Amanda Hatton.

The Season’s Greetings competition is an annual event and this is now the seventh year that JCDecaux UK has offered lucky pupils the chance to have their designs shown on digital screens in Princes Street.

The quality of the entries was extremely high so it was really difficult for us to pick just 12 to go on the digital screens. All the entries deserve special mention and I’m delighted that JCDecaux have once again allowed designs to be displayed on the bus shelters in Princes Street. Cllr Joan Griffiths The City of Edinburgh Council
Our young people are showing real creativity and artistic talent with these cards so well done to them all. It’s really exciting for the pupils and their families to see the designs on public show and they will definitely bring festive cheer to shoppers on Princes Street this weekend.
