Bus shelter-mounted 4G transmitters installed in Amsterdam boost network coverage where it’s in greatest demand.
People want to be consistently connected when they’re out and about. But when lots of people are trying to connect at the same time, quality of service will suffer. Small cells boost network coverage in the vicinity. Perfect for areas where people congregate and connectivity is crucial: city centres, retail destinations and transport hubs.

In Amsterdam JCDecaux worked with Vodafone and Alcatel-Lucent to install 200 small cells in the heart of the city. Each cell can support around 200 simultaneous connections up to a distance of 600 metres; JCDecaux bus shelters proved the ideal locations for city centre penetration.

At the end of the install phase, all 4G relay transmitters were seamlessly integrated into their environment, at the heart of where they are most required.
