2014 has been ‘one big year’ for Scotland, host of both the XX Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup. This November has been no exception with this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, which presented an exclusive opportunity for the brand to reach audiences travelling to and from the music event by dominating Glasgow Airport.
The Outdoor campaign, planned and booked with JCDecaux Airport by PHD and Talon, immersed passengers in the MTV brand with wraps, digital and 6-sheet locations that promoting the MTV EMA event hosted by Nicki Minaj and held on 9th November 2014, including the hashtag: #MTVEMA.
MTV’s official sponsor, Essence Cosmetics, also deployed two ‘beauty exchange’ zones located in the arrivals and departures areas of the airport, inviting passengers to exchange old cosmetics for brand new Essence products.
Jacqueline McCormick, Commercial Director of JCDecaux Airport Scotland, said: “As the gateway to the city, Glasgow Airport was the perfect location for MTV to reach the celebrities and visitors travelling to and from this prestigious music event. We were delighted that MTV and its official sponsor, Essence, decided to ‘own’ the airport with such a range of premium Out-of-Home opportunities – ending a great year for Scotland!”
