As excitement builds for next year’s Winter Olympic Games, skiing and snowboarding came to Central London as the first ever ‘London Snow’ event.

As excitement builds for next year’s Winter Olympic Games, skiing and snowboarding came to Central London as the first ever ‘London Snow’ event, including the ‘Slide2Sochi Roadshow’, transformed Covent Garden into a winter wonderland, giving people the chance to try skiing and snowboarding on a 5 metre by 10 metre real snow slope.

Booked with JCDecauxLive, London Snow and the Slide2Sochi Roadshow brought a ski slope made up of 10 tonnes of real snow into the centre of Covent Garden.

Great Britain’s Halfpipe Snowboarder and Sochi 2014 hopeful, Dom Harington, opened the event on Friday and gave tips to the public alongside The Snow Centre’s ski and snowboard instructors.

Tim Fawke, CEO of Snowsport England, said: “Bringing the Slide2Sochi Roadshow into the centre of London is an exciting opportunity for us to spread the word about skiing and snowboarding and, by teaming up with London Snow, actually gives members of the public the chance to try snowsports for free.”
