London Waterloo has been taken over by the Philippines Department of Tourism as part of its ‘Visit Philippines Again 2016’ campaign.

London Waterloo has been taken over by the Philippines Department of Tourism as part of its ‘Visit Philippines Again 2016’ campaign, providing an exotic and colourful experience for commuters from April 24th – May 23rd.

Booked directly with JCDecaux, the ambient domination includes floor media, banners, pennants as well as creative on Motion@Waterloo, all featuring vibrant scenes from Philippine islands and messages such as “I Can’t Find My Left Flip-Flop. Find any excuse to come back” and the campaign strapline “It’s more fun in the Philippines”.

The domination also includes a special immersion zone that gives commuters a taste and feel of the country's beauty with virtual reality (VR) headsets and an ‘underwater’ selfie booth.

In addition to this, commuters have three chances to win instant prizes and a holiday to the Philippines. They can take “foot selfies” using the special “flipper” floor stickers mapped around the station concourse. They can also take photos in the 3D selfie stand or experience the Philippine islands using special VR pods.

Awaiting the lucky winner is a seven-day package for two, including accommodation in Manila, Cebu and Bohol, tours, as well as international flights with Philippine Airlines.

Lee Madine, Creative Solutions Project Manager, JCDecaux UK said:“Philippines Department of Tourism has taken full advantage of what Out-of-Home has to offer. The combination of digital, print and experiential offers a unique, exciting and memorable experience for the thousands of commuters travelling through Waterloo each day.”

Commuters are also encouraged to download the Philippines app, where they are able to find more information about the station domination as well as monthly competitions and offers.

This Waterloo takeover is part of a series of station dominations taking place throughout the year.
