This site has been designed and built to make our information accessible to everyone.
Features
- Scalable & resizable design.
- To assist with legibility the size of the majority of the elements on the page (e.g. text, image and Flash) can be increased and decreased.
- Jump bar
- Pressing the Tab key cycles through the available links on the current page. The first four tab presses in the cycle will active the "Jump bar"
where you can jump to the navigation, content, footer or this page.
- Unobtrusive Javascript and Flash
- This site can be navigated and the majority the information accessed without Javascript enabled and Flash installed.
- Ability to add user-defined style sheets
- All pages are designed with separate cascading style sheets, so they can be replaced by user-defined style sheets.
Accessibility guidelines
- This site follows W3C accessibility guidelines.
- Using best-practise web standards the semantic structure of the information is preserved; improving legibility for text-based browsers and screen readers.
- A colour palette which provides adequate colour contrast has been used.
- All images have text alternates (ALT attributes).
Preferences
The main navigation and the majority of the headings are displayed using Adobe's Flash plugin. The "Jump navigation", mentioned above, is only available if the Flash navigation is disabled. You can set your preferences below:
